Day 9 – Industrial Vintage Drafting Table….

Today I cleaned and scrubbed and oiled and repaired…. This amazing drafting table, made by Nike Hydraulics in Eskilstuna, Sweden, circa 1940…..

I rubbed it down with fish oil to stabilize the rust, cleaned off years of grime from storage… The hydraulics are still working perfectly so I just oiled the seals and cleaned the metal back to make it raise and lower smoothly…

Most of the work was removing bolts and removing the old grease, and re-lubeing everything….

The rubber cover for the foot pedal was in great shape, just dirty, so I removed it and cleaned it and treated it with rubber reviver to prevent any deterioration….

The pulley system needed very little work, some new bolts and a few adjustments….

An amazing industrial minimalist and functional piece…. I will be sad to see this one go… It will be available in our Facebook store….
